Snack trays sold in megastores recalled due to salmonella outbreak

At least Two dozen people in 14 states have become sick, including five hospitalized, from salmonella poisoning linked to a recall of meat snack trays sold at some Sam’s Club stores. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported this on Friday.

Fratelli Beretta USA, a New Jersey-based meat processing company, issued a recall this week. over 11,000 pounds of Busseto Foods brand ready-to-eat sausages, because they may be contaminated with salmonella.

The meat trays are marked “Bussetto Food Charcuterie Sampler Prosciutto, Sweet Soppressata and Dry Copa”, lot number LO75330300. and expiration date is April 27. They have EST facility numbers. 7543B carries USDA and EST inspection marks. No. 47967 on the package.

The cases were reported between November 20 and December 18, 2023. Salmonella infections can be dangerous for young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems.

According to the CDC, consumers should check if there is food in their refrigerator and return it to the place of purchase or throw it away.
