Sportsman, Doctor of Economics and former Wolfsburg President formed Forestry Commission | Relief
More than a month has passed since the government agreed not to suspend Pedro Rocha in exchange for creation of a government commission for normalization, supervision and representation of the RFEF. At its head they placed an undisputed figure of authority, the former national football coach who won the 2010 World Cup, Vicente del Bosque, who not only presided over it, but also unofficially gave it his name. But the matter remained there.
Later it became known that the so-called “Forestry Commission” was going to be formed from four members, but without their names. Meanwhile, some tension continued to exist between the CSD and the RFEF. Pedro Rocha, encouraged by his immediate team, resorted to the help of UEFA to protect his independence and the premise that this “Del Bosque Commission” would rank “hierarchically higher” than any governing body of the Federation. These were days of some tension, letters were exchanged between UEFA, FIFA and the Spanish government, but in the end, after a new meeting in the CSD, Pedro Rocha agreed to live under the supervision of the aforementioned Commission.
Soon after, Vicente del Bosque began work and represented the government in the Women’s Champions League final in San Mamés and then joined the delegation of 2030 candidates. in Barcelona, as announced by Relevoled by Portugal and Morocco.
In any case, they didn’t know each other yet. the other four names that Relevo had access to: two women and two men (one of them is Del Bosque himself) with different profiles in the sporting, economic, business and social fields, to cover all aspects of common interest related to the preparation of the 2030 candidacy.
First on the list is the Olympic athlete and basketball player, Aauri Bokesa, with extensive sporting experience at the national level. Together with her, Doctor of Economic Sciences Elena Martinez RuizProfessor at the University of Alcalá and author of numerous successful publications.
In the men’s part of the commission In addition to Del Bosque himself, who will be its chairman, there will be Francisco Javier García Sanz., one of the Spanish managers who occupied a high position of responsibility in an international corporation. He was global vice president of purchasing for the Volkswagen Group for 17 years and president of Wolfsburg for ten years.
The appointments are the culmination of a government initiative to end the rampant loss of prestige experienced by the Spanish Football Federation following Luis Rubiales’ controversial kiss with Jenny Hermoso in the final in Sydney. Suspended by FIFA, he took the necessary steps to replace Pedro Rocha at the head of the RFEF, but continuous scandals associated with the Negreira case or the Broda operation, in addition to a very serious case against Rocha himself in the Sports Administrative Court, which could still lead to the disqualification of both him and the entire Management Commission that ran the institution for about eight months before the elections.
