SsangYong changes name and is now called KGM

Recall that in the summer of 2022, the Free Trade Commission of South Korea approved the acquisition of a 61% controlling stake in SsangYong by KG Group. This is not the first or last car brand that will have to make such changes. The last to do so was Jaguar Land Rover in mid-2023, when it was renamed JLR.

It was at this point that KG Group was born.

KGM celebrates its 70th anniversary

At the end of last year, its sales reached 120,000 units, and the company expects this figure to increase by 166% to reach 320,000 units in 2026.

Results of 2024 in Spain

In our country, KGM Spain closed first half of 2024 with a total of 3,433 units sold, growth 147%. According to Alberto Herrero, Commercial Director of KGM in Spain, “We are experiencing a moment of absolute rebirth. This commercial network initiated the name change, and most of the concessions now bear the initials KGM.

KGM Spain plans to end 2024 with 6,000 units (0.6% market share) and an expected growth of 186% compared to the previous year.
