This weekend, SZA has officially achieved his seventh consecutive week at number one in the United States, on the Billboard 200 chart, with his album ‘SOS’. It has sold 111,000 more units, and 1,108,000 in totalsince its release on December 9.
Only three women have had albums with seven weeks at No. 1 in the last 20 years.. In the last two decades – from February 2003 to the last list – only three female singers have spent at least seven weeks at number 1 on the Billboard 200 list.SOS‘ of SZA, they were ‘Folklore‘Swift’s (8 weeks),’25‘Adele’s (10 weeks),’1989‘ Swift (11 weeks) and ‘Grid‘ (7 weeks), ‘twenty-one‘ from Adele (24 weeks) and ‘fearless‘ from Swift (11 weeks).

‘SOS’ was initially led by singles like ‘Good Days‘, ‘i hate you‘ Y ‘Shirt‘. ‘kill bill‘ Y ‘Nobody Gets Me‘ have since been added as the latest singles. SZA premiered a few weeks ago the video for ‘Kill Bill’which also included a cameo appearance by actress Vivica A. Fox. This single is also platinum in the United States.

SZA catches up with Whitney in chart history. ‘SOS’ becomes the first R&B/hip-hop album by a woman, or R&B by any artist, to spend its first seven weeks at No. 1 since ‘Whitney‘, Whitney Houston in 1987. The latter debuted at No. 1 on the chart dated June 27, 1987 and spent its first 11 weeks at No. 1. ‘Whitney’ was the first R&B/hip-hop album by a woman, or R&B album. by a woman, to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
