Lady Gaga gave a round of applause Taylor Swift for talking about his eating disorder in a clip from his documentary ‘Miss Americana’ 2020. “That’s really brave all you said”commented the singer of ‘Bad Romance’ under a TikTok video showing a clip from the Netflix doc. In the video, Swift opened up about how she developed “gradually” an eating disorder after becoming famous at such a young age. “I am much happier with who I am. I don’t care so much if someone points out that I’ve gained weight, it’s just something that makes my life better.”said. “The fact that I’m a size six instead of a double size zero. I mean, that’s not how my body was supposed to be.”

At his thinnest moment, Swift revealed that “he did not eat” Y “I exercised a lot” in an effort to fit in with beauty standards, something she later realized was “impossible”. “There’s always some beauty standard you’re not meeting, because if you’re skinny enough then you don’t get that thumbs up that everyone wants. But if you’re heavy enough to get a thumbs up, your belly isn’t flat enough. It’s fucking impossible.”
The conversation struck a chord with Gaga, who also fought against bulimia and anorexia, since he was 15 years old. “I’m not that confident in myself”he said in 2013. “I wanted to be a skinny ballerina, but I was a voluptuous Italian girl whose father had meatballs on the table every night.”
In 2012, the ‘Born This Way’ singer spoke at a conference called ‘It’s Our Turn’ and shared her story after a young woman in the audience revealed she was also battling an eating disorder. “I used to throw up all the time in high school,” Gaga said. “It’s very hard, but you have to talk to someone about it.”
then continued: “The weight is still a struggle. In all the videos I appear in, on all the magazine covers, they stretch you, they make you perfect. It’s not real life. I’m going to say this about the girls: The diet wars have to stop. Everybody leave it. Because at the end of the day, it’s affecting girls her age. And it’s making the girls sick.”
