Taylor Swift ended the 2023 US leg of her popular Eras tour in Los Angeles with a bang, announcing the fourth edition of her album re-recording project: “1989 (Taylor’s Version)”.
After performing a few songs from his “1989” live, the pop superstar took center stage, acoustic guitar in hand, and told the audience he was working on something big.
“Instead of telling you, we’re just going to show you,” she told the crowd as a screen behind lit up that read “‘1989 (Taylor Edition)’ October 27!” And the singer expressed her happiness.
Last month, Swift released her re-recording of “Speak Now” and shortly thereafter claimed the record for the woman with the most chart-topping albums in history. The “Taylor’s Version” album originated from the purchase and subsequent sale of her debut catalog by music manager Scooter Braun.
In addition to breaking some news, over the course of more than three hours at SoFi Stadium, Swift treated fans to songs she’s performed throughout her career, something that was less a greatest hits collection and more a live celebration. Artist at peak.
70,000 fans belted out their hits and B-sides to the ecstatic sounds of the field. Swift dresses in different eras of Swift (her 2019 album “Pink for Lover,” black leather and snakeskin for 2017’s “Reputation”, sequins and flared skirts for “1989” from 2014, etc.) Captured the stadium full of supporters.
In a summer filled with superstar tours celebrating major new releases like Beyoncé’s extravagant Renaissance World Tour and Drake’s 56-date It Was All a Blur Tour, Swift’s Eras Tour proudly stands among them.
