Taylor Swift is “devastated” by fan’s death before Eraza Tour Brazil show – The Hollywood Reporter

Taylor Swift has spoken out about a fan who died before the start of her Eraz Tour show in Brazil on Friday.

The singer-songwriter shared a statement on her Instagram Story, which read, “I can’t believe I’m writing these words, but with a broken heart I say that we had a heart attack before my show tonight. Lost fan. I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this. I have very little information other than the fact that she was incredibly beautiful and very young.”

She further said, “I won’t be able to talk about this on stage because even when I try to talk about it, I get overwhelmed with grief. I want to say now that I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to his family and friends. “This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil.”

Swift kicked off the international leg of her Eraz Tour in Latin America last week, starting in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She then flew to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for one of three nights on Friday.

Although few details have been released about the cause of the fan’s death, Swift’s statement comes after video circulated on social media of the singer tossing water bottles at fans from the stage during a concert in Brazil. People on social media are also claiming that the stadium where the show was held banned fans from bringing water bottles as temperatures soared to almost 100 degrees on Friday.

Swift can also be seen stopping the show at one point in a video to make sure fans got water. “There are people who need water right here, probably 30, 35, 40 feet back,” he told the crowd. “So whoever is in charge of giving it to them, just make sure that happens. Can I have a hint that you know where they are?”
