Taylor Swift and SZA lead the list of nominees for the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, sweeping eight and six categories.
The two are competing in the Video of the Year category for “Anti-Hero” and “Kill Bill”, respectively. They are followed by Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo and Sam Smith, with Kim Petras tied with five nominations.
The ceremony will take place on September 12 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
35 artists are nominated for the first time this year, including Boygenius, Glorilla, Ice Spice, Pinkpantheres, Flo Milly, Renee Rapp and Featherweight, among others.
Other 2023 VMA nominees include Lana Del Rey, Bad Bunny, Shakira, Janelle Monae, Paramore, Blackpink, Adele, Rosalia, Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Diddy, Karol G, TomorrowXTogether and Metallica. .
