Team Cuba to the Classic is a FAILURE, the Federation complied with ORDERS – SwingCompleto

The recent announcement of the list of 50 Cuban players for the next World Baseball Classic has been loaded with controversy and debate on social networks.
Among the issues that stand out is the non-incursion into the roster of Yasmany Tomás, who has had a very outstanding performance in the Mexican Winter League, with Cañeros de Los Mochis. Besides the absence of Frederich CepedaYordanis Samón and Freddy Asiel Álvarez.
Many experts and fans consider that said list is a failure, among several reasons, for only presenting 12 professional players who live outside the island, leaving big names off the list.

Faced with this situation, the well-known Cuban journalist and founder of Swing Completo, Daniel de Malas, presented with solid arguments the reasons for this controversial fact.
“The announcement of the Cuba team on January 6 has been a big failure for the Cuban Baseball Federation,” said de Malas.
“This institution once again demonstrated that it is not going to change anything and that it is even going to do a lot of damage to everyone who decides to join it.”
“Only 12 names of more than 150 players who played in major league and minor league baseball were announced. Less than 10 percent is what joins the Cuba team; the vast majority are not there.
“The manager of the Cuba team, Armando Johnson, announced that he had personally called José Dariel Abreu and Yordan Álvarez on several occasions, the calls were never answered, players of that stature “say no” to the Federation.”
