The brand updates the model 25 years after its birth

It’s been 25 years since Porsche released the first Porsche 911 GT3 history, and although sometimes now is not the time to introduce a new generation, the German brand took advantage of the anniversary to present an updated version of the current supply.

This is, as always, a radical version that can be used both on the street and on the track; and for the first time, in addition to the standard option, Touring format, which is more subdued and lacks flashy elements such as a fixed rear spoiler.

Porsche has paid particular attention to weight reduction, installing aluminum wheels that save 1.5 kilograms and the ability to add other light-weight options, making the car sporty at best. weighs only 1420 kilograms.

The engine is traditionally a block. 4.0 six-cylinder boxer engine on which the cylinder heads and camshafts were checked. The result is strength 510 hp (same as supplied before) and 450 Nm, combination with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission or a six-speed manual is possible.

With the first acceleration From 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 311 km/h, the second takes 3.9 seconds, and its top speed is 313 km/h.

Special packages

As usual for the German brand, the 911 GT3 is available with three packages that further refine its formula.

The first is Club package, The kit includes a steel roll cage, a six-point driver seat belt and a hand-held fire extinguisher.

The second is Weissach package, also designed to get the most out of it on the track. Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) forms the anti-roll bar, suspension arms, rear axle skid plate, roof, rear spoiler side plates, upper door mirror housings, mirror triangle and front air vanes. Add leather and Race-Tex upholstery to the mix. Forged magnesium wheels and a carbon fiber roll cage can be optionally added.

Finally, the 911 GT3 Touring may include Light package. As the name suggests, it aims to lighten the weight with forged magnesium and CRFP wheels that integrate the roof, suspension arms and rear axle skid plate.

Orders for the Porsche 911 GT3 are already open, the Touring version will do the same at the end of the year, and both are priced the same: 240,815 euros. In addition, the Weissach package costs €25,820 and the Lightweight package costs €38,635.
