The first Google I/O 2023 conference has come to an end. We’re talking about the search giant’s highly anticipated developer event. The great main character, as you can imagine, was artificial intelligence (AI).

Honestly, this is what almost all of us expected after the recent movements in the industry, mainly those brought about by OpenAI. The company led by Sam Altman, we recall, yesterday announced its new flagship model GPT-4o.

From Hataki we went to Mountain View to provide you with the most complete information about news announced this Monday. Below you will find a summary of the articles presented, as well as links to related articles.

All Google I/O 2024 news from Google

Gemini 1.5 Flash. Google’s family of artificial intelligence models has a new member. Gemini Flash is presented as an alternative that boasts speed and reduced latency. That is, it is designed for applications that require fast response.

Image 3 and I see. Google now has a new image generation model called Image 3. It aims to create more realistic images. The company also introduced a video generation model similar to OpenAI’s Sora, called Veo.

Gemini 1.5 Pro: The existing model is improved in use areas such as translation, coding and reasoning. In addition, it is equipped with a brutal context window: up to 1 million tokens to absorb large content, including audio and video.

Gemini live. Gemini Advanced subscribers will be able to take advantage of this solution, which gives the eyes and voice of AI. They will be able to interact in natural language with their voice, activate the camera and start a conversation about the environment, something similar to what we saw with GPT-4o.

News about Gemini 1.5 Pro and Gemini Live can be found here in Image 3 and Veo.

Project Astra. Google wants us to take advantage of the multimodality of its artificial intelligence beyond the phone. The company introduced Project Astra, an initiative to develop universal agents that can be useful in everyday tasks.

One of the features of Project Astra has to do with the hardware. We’re not talking about a new chip, but about glasses that may seem ordinary, but actually have cameras, a microphone and allow you to interact with AI.

Now Google wants to “find you.” The advent of artificial intelligence is forcing Google to reinvent itself and thus reinvent its most iconic product: the search engine. The firm is working on integrating Gemini into search engines and, they promise, will make our lives easier.

Fraud call detector. Android will have a system for detecting fraudulent calls. Gemini will be able to analyze the conversation in real time and warn us if there are signs that they are trying to deceive us. There are other Android news.
