Google has unveiled the first public beta of Android 15, an update to previous developer previews available only to Pixel phone owners.
This early release invites users to experiment with features they showed off at Google’s annual developer conference last year.
The latest update introduces a number of improvements designed to improve the user experience.
One quality is the edge-to-edge app display, which allows apps to take full advantage of the screen while integrating with the system’s translucent panels. This setting not only increases the viewable screen area, but also creates a more attractive user interface.
To improve its functionality, Android 15 now supports system-level archiving and unzipping of apps.
This addition is a boon to third-party app stores as it makes it easier to manage app storage without compromising the device’s performance.
Support for partial screen recording has also been added, which will allow you to capture only the app’s content rather than the entire screen.
Android 15 improves the in-app camera experience. Additional processing for low-light image previews in Android 15 will make them brighter and more accurate than what they see when you press the capture button.
Additionally, this update expands support for Braille displays. This improvement ensures that visually impaired users can easily interact with their devices, promoting digital inclusion.
