The Madrid City Council denies neighbors and confirms that the Bernabeu has a valid license

The Department of Urban Planning, Environment and Mobility of the Madrid City Council assures that since the opening of the stadium until now, “after successive works and expansions, various operating licenses have been issued.”

The last license to operate the Madrid temple was issued on August 10, 2017. The 2017 operating license remains valid at all times as it does not expire. In a document submitted to the court and accessed by ABC, neighbors accuse the concert organizer of presenting a 23-year-old license to the Community of Madrid so that they would be granted the necessary permits to hold the concerts. at the stadium.

This appeal was submitted last Wednesday to the Court of Instruction No. 53 of Madrid, the same one that accepted the complaint filed by the same group of neighbors against the Real Madrid Estadio company and the general director of the white club, José Ángel Sánchez Perianez. , for an environmental crime after exceeding legal noise limits. They are called to testify on October 24.

The Association demanded from the Community of Madrid a copy of the licenses for the operation of the stadium provided by the organizers, confirming that the same document is the “decree granting the license for the operation of the stadium of 2001.” Neighbors also point out that by presenting this license, the Community of Madrid is being “deceived”, “which issued the permits with the false belief that the document presented confirmed the existence of a valid operating license.”

Similar to the city council, the club, under the chairmanship of Florentino Perez, yesterday issued an official statement in which it assures that “it is absolutely false” that it is developing or has developed its sports activities under an expired license, and it is also not true that this the license “has been used by third parties to mislead any government administration.”

Real Madrid also insists that concerts “that take place in the stadium do not require the grant of a municipal license,” but rather the permission of the Community of Madrid, which they had for all events.
