The Ministry of Health’s mobile vaccination unit administered a total of 696 doses of influenza vaccine and 508 doses of Covid-19 vaccine in the first two days of travel in Alicante and Elche.

The unit was located today at the Jaca de Elche seafront, where 484 flu vaccines and 333 Covid-19 vaccines were administered. Likewise, on Saturday it was located in the Plaza de España in Alicante, where 212 vaccines against flu and 175 against Covid-19 were administered.

The Ministry of Health has launched for the first time a mobile vaccination unit against influenza and Covid-19 to facilitate the immunization of the entire population of the Valencian Community against these respiratory viruses.

The mobile unit will carry out a mobile route that will continue this coming weekend in the municipalities of Castellon de la Plana, Vila Real, Gandia, Valencia, Alcoy, Benidorm and Torrevieja until December 15 next year and will always be located in points located in the areas with a large influx of population in three provinces to bring the vaccination opportunity closer to citizens, as they can come without an appointment.

In this sense, next weekend, November 16th, it will be installed in the Plaza de España in the Castello de la Plana, and on November 17th it will move to the Plaza Llaurador in Vila Real.

The Ministry of Health insists on the importance of vaccination, as it is the most effective measure to protect against these viruses and, in turn, prevent possible infections, especially among vulnerable populations with a higher risk of developing complications. In this regard, it is worth remembering that the flu vaccine has been shown to prevent more than half of the most serious cases of the disease in older people and people at risk.
