In the summer of 2021, a pre-production copy of the current generation Audi RS 3 managed to take first place in the compact car category at the legendary track Nürburgring Nordschleife, with a time of 7:40.748 minutes and beating the entire Renault Mégane RS Trophy-R by almost five seconds. Now, three years later, Frank Stippler has returned to the helm of the German model to set the record straight on his rivals…

Enough time had passed between both performances for two events to happen: on the one hand, the new generation BMW M2 managed to overtake the RS 3 with a time of 7:38.71 minutes; on the other hand, that Audi is working on the car enough to further improve its dynamic qualities. Result? The new RS 3 again takes first place in its category according to version reduce the time of the Munich model by… more than five seconds!

Stippler barely had two laps to stopping the clock in an impressive 7:33.123 minutes., establishing the updated 2025 Audi RS 3 as the king of compact cars in the Green Hell. To achieve this goal, the driver and developer of Audi Sport chose a car whose settings have been redesigned accordingly: it is seven seconds faster than its predecessor, while maintaining the same characteristics: 400 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque.

The record-breaking unit was accompanied by Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R and carbon-ceramic brakes.

The key lies in the updated adaptive suspension, as well as the brake torque vectoring system, conveniently optimized to work in conjunction with the torque divider, allowing the compact sports car to accelerate faster and have better cornering position: “The new RS 3 turns in better when entering corners thanks to a setting that allows the car to take an earlier and better position to exit the corner. As a result, less steering effort is required from apex to corner exit, resulting in less friction and earlier acceleration. This allows you to come out with more dynamism and speed on each subsequent straight,” says Stippler.

Audi notes that the production model will be available to order starting at the end of August. The first copies will arrive at dealerships in October.. This means your presentation is just around the corner…
