The number of online shoppers in Spain exceeds 30 million

87% of the population using the Internet makes purchases online.

On the other hand, the study shows that the number of people using the Internet in Spain is 96% of the population aged 16 to 74, reaching 34.5 million people, of whom 87% buy the Internet, reaching the figure. 30 million people for the first time, an example of e-commerce implementation in Spain.

Regarding The average spending of people shopping online exceeds 3,300 euros per year.Among the most purchased goods and services are clothing items (clothing, shoes and accessories) – 78.9% of the total number of those who buy online, and tickets to cultural events – 57%.

The smart mobile phone is the most common device used for shopping, with over 71%, and over 73% of people predicting they will maintain a similar level of purchases in 2024. When it comes to the reasons why consumers shop online, price (52%) and convenience (50.4%) are cited as determining factors.

68% of online shoppers are familiar with AI

Regarding the impact of new technologies, more than 68% of online shoppers are familiar with AI and consider its impact favorable. Except, 91.2% of people who shop online consider this type of shopping safe.

Edition 2024″, data from which were extracted from an online survey conducted between June and July 2024 on sample of 2,900 people aged 16 to 74 years living in Spain.applies to purchases made in 2023. This analysis aims to capture the dynamics that drive online e-commerce shopping, so it provides data on spending volume, the number of people shopping online and average spending per online consumer.

Likewise, the survey also analyzes key aspects such as buyer profile, shopping habits, online shopping impulses and brakes, user experience, logistics or the impact of artificial intelligence or cybersecurity.
