The world’s most risky McDonald’s

It looks like the entrance to McDonald’s. But most of all it is a trap for drivers

A driver in Wales was driving his car like any other day. In the distance, they saw a McDonald’s sign and decided to stop for coffee on the return trip. A week later, he received a £70 fine: he had invaded a bus lane.

He is not the only person to whom this has happened, as Carmarthenshire Council themselves told him, the same fines amounted to more than half a million pounds in just one year.

This is the story of this driver from Wales who was driving on the B4304 on November 29 last year. There is a small lane just opposite McDonald’s intersection. This street may be mistaken for the entrance to a restaurant. Spoiler: it’s not.

In fact, this lane right next to the McDonald’s is a bus lane that has a camera installed on it and that, in the last year, raised more than five lakhs Pound in fine.

Expanding on the view, we can see two blue signs Which shows the existence of bus lanes. Two signs that, due to drivers’ confusion (their eyes are probably on the restaurant’s giant sign), they usually don’t see.

As a curious fact, from the restaurant itself there are two signs indicating that the passage is prohibited, signs that, according to the drivers who have fallen into the “trap”, should be the same at both the entrance and the exit of said lane.

Also, the problem is that when looking at the image on Google Maps, the street actually looks like the entrance to the restaurant. But the actual entrance is not there: to reach it it is necessary to go through two roundabouts and enter from the back. The returns are huge and it’s quite confusing to figure out how to get in.

charge? 70 pounds, 35 prompt payment. This lane, not being in a residential area, is frequented by many drivers who pass through it for the first time or do not know the area well. They need to sharpen their vision if they don’t want to fatten the county’s books.
