There will be no BlizzCon in 2024.
Blizzard has announced that there will be no BlizzCon this year.
In a statement posted on their own website, they explained that “after careful consideration over the past year, we at Blizzard have decided not to host BlizzCon in 2024.”
“This decision was not made lightly because BlizzCon continues to be a special event for all of us, and we know many of you have been looking forward to it. Although this year we are focusing on something different and have explored other event formats. in “Rest assured that we are more excited than ever to celebrate BlizzCon in the coming years.”
BlizzCon is an annual event that Blizzard holds to announce its upcoming projects and bring together the player community through various forums and presentations.
The event was canceled from 2020 to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it returned last year in November with the event held at the Anaheim (California) Convention Center and there was much anticipation following its conclusion. a few weeks before the purchase of the company by Microsoft.
Blizzard explained that while BlizzCon won’t be happening this year, Gamescom in Cologne will feature news about World of Warcraft: The War Within or Diablo IV’s first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, as well as a number of events. in person to celebrate Warcraft’s thirtieth anniversary.
“We hope that this experience, as well as the live industry events where we keep you up to date on what’s happening in our game universes, will capture the essence of what makes the Blizzard community so special.
