(CNN Spanish) — On the night of this Saturday, January 21, one of the deadliest shootings in California history occurred, after a 72-year-old man shot repeatedly at a dance studio located in Monterey Park.
The attacker, identified as Huu Can Tran, killed 11 people and injured 9 others in what was the 33rd armed attack so far this year in the United States, according to the Gun Violence Archive, which, like CNN defines a mass shooting as one in which four or more people are shot, excluding the shooter.
Can Tran was discovered dead this Sunday morning in the nearby city of Torrance, after the attacker shot himself when the police approached his vehicle.
The authorities revealed more information this Monday and the identity of some of the fatalities of this tragic event has been known.

Who are the victims of the mass shooting in Monterey Park, California?
According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, all 11 fatalities were over the age of 50 and none were over the age of 80.
Six of the deceased were women and the rest were men.
So far, the coroner has fully identified the following victims:
- Mymy Nhan, female –– Born on August 15, 1957 (age 65)
- Lilan Li, female –– Born on November 23, 1959 (63 years old)
- Xiujuan Yu, female –– Born on January 12, 1965 (57 years old)
- Valentino Alvero, male –– Born on March 11, 1954 (68 years old)
