It’s not yet entirely clear whether Chinese manufacturers will finally have to go through the tariffs Europe recently imposed on their electric vehicles, but many have already started working to not only avoid these types of taxes on their products, but also have more room to improvise within the market itself.

Chery is already finalizing details with Ebro to launch two SUVs that they will produce right here in Spain, and another Chinese brand has just confirmed when it will start producing a low-cost electric car in Europe. It’s about jumping motor and its model called T03.

The Chinese manufacturer has arrived in Europe with Stellantis, so it will use the connections that the European giant has in the Old Continent to expand more easily and closely with the public it wants to reach. This includes not only the distribution network, but also its production, as we have seen.

Lipmotor T03.

Leapmotor will produce the T03 in Poland, where Stellantis has a powerful plant in Tychy. There, models such as the Citroën ë-C3 or the Lancia Ypsilon, among many others, are already rolling off the assembly lines.

Production of the Leapmotor T03 in Tychy is expected to begin in the last quarter of the year, so units sold from the end of the year and into 2025 on our market will be of European origin.

On the other hand, and since commercialization has already begun, until then all units of the registered model in Europe will arrive here from China, so for now it will be necessary to keep an eye on the tariffs imposed on Chinese brands and their electric vehicles.

The Stellantis plant in Tychy specializes in the production of small cars.

In its first commercial phase in our market, Leapmotor began its commercial journey with two completely different models. The T03 has an extremely important approach and its main competitor will be the Dacia Spring, which also hails from China. It measures less than 4 meters, has a small battery with which it provides 265 kilometers of autonomy, and its price without assistance is 18,900 euros.

The C10, on the other hand, is a large SUV by European standards. With its 4.74 meters, it is in the D-SUV segment. It offers an approved range of 420 kilometers, has an output of 218 hp, and its price without additional assistance starts from 36,400 euros.
