They revealed shocking videos of the attack on the husband of Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi

The US Justice released this Friday the attack on the husband of the now former president of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosiwhich shows the arrival of the agents at the family home and the moment he was attacked.

Paul Pelosi, 82, was attacked on October 28 in San Francisco (California) while he was at home. The assailant, identified as David DePape42, burst into the house shouting “Where’s Nancy?”although she was in Washington at the time.

The dissemination of the images by the San Francisco Superior Court occurs after different media, such as the chain CNNthey would have requested that they be made public because what happened claimed “transparency”.

The video, one minute and 39 seconds long and with explicit material, shows the agents arriving at the house and knocking on the door.

Paul Pelosi was able to call 911 after convincing the attacker to let him go to the bathroom, where his phone was charging. His call came at 02:27 local time (09:27 GMT).

When the door opens, the husband of the US politician and the assailant are seen at the entrance, both standing and facing forward, holding the same hammer.

“What’s going on?”, an agent asks, to which DePape replies that everything is fine and Pelosi, barefoot, remains silent.

The assailant grabs the arm with which Pelosi was holding the hammer with his other hand, while Pelosi complains, and the police officers, who were shining a flashlight on them, yell to let him go.

DePape then says no and when he gets Pelosi to stop grabbing him he hits her with the hammer, which is not seen explicitly.

“Shit!” Shouts an agent as they instantly enter the house and pounce on the assailant. By then Pelosi, wounded, is lying on the ground, wounded, motionless, and with a bloody shirt.

“Give me your fucking hand” they tell DePape as his call to emergency services is heard.

The husband of the then president of the Lower House was taken to the Zuckerberg General Hospital and successfully operated on for a skull fracture and various serious injuries to the right arm and hands.

The assailant also ended up in the hospital, but no information on his medical condition was provided. His attack took place less than two weeks before the midterm elections on November 8, in which the Democrats lost their control of the House of Representatives and maintained that of the Senate.

Nancy Pelosi announced in mid-November her withdrawal as leader of the Democrats in that chamber in the current legislature. The woman had anticipated the day before the elections that this attack was going to influence her decision about her future.

This Thursday, he told the press that he had not yet seen the video and that he did not know if he was going to: “It would be very hard to see an attack on my husband’s life”added the congresswoman, pointing out that although Paul Pelosi recovers little by little, it will still take “at least three months” to return to normality.
