This big update will bring much more than just Apple Intelligence. We tell you their news
The next big one iPhone update is approaching. After launching iOS 18 to the general public in mid-September, Apple last week released iOS 18.0.1 with bug fixes, and iOS 18.1 will soon follow, a version that has been in beta since the summer and has already been revealed. be He will arrive this October steadily.
Mark Gurman, a prominent Bloomberg whistleblower, is now claiming that Monday, October 28. This is exactly what he mentioned in his latest newsletter, thus making it clear when we will be able to enjoy the new iPhone features beyond Apple Intelligence, which will debut in the United States and which will take some time in countries like Spain.
New features coming to your iPhone on October 28
There are one or two more beta versions of iOS 18.1, but given what we’ve seen in the previous ones, we already know that main news that come with this version.
- Apple Intelligence: This version will introduce the first phase of Apple Intelligence, including notification summaries, advanced information searches using Siri or a writing assistant. And while it will only be released in English in the US, there are ways to try Apple Intelligence from Spain.
- Removing objects and people in Photos: What is known as the iPhone’s Magic Eraser is a reference to a similar Google feature and allows us to very quickly edit a photo to remove elements from it that bother us. This is an Apple Intelligence option.
- New features in the control center: Besides adding (finally) two independent icons to activate Wi-Fi and VPN, the control center can be reset to look like it did from the factory.
- Call recording: One of the great new features of iOS 18 was iPhone call recording, and it’s finally making its debut in version 18.1. It will be compatible with all models starting from the XS and XR, although only with the iPhone 12 we can also get a call transcription in Notes.
- New features of the iPhone 16 button: The new camera control button on the latest iPhone will now also allow you to switch from the rear to the front camera or vice versa without touching the screen.
- Drag from iPhone to Mac (and vice versa): With the new iPhone mirroring app macOS Sequoia we can control the mobile device from the computer, and with iOS 18.1 and macOS 15.1 we can also transfer files from one device to another simply by dragging them with the mouse.
As we said in the introduction, according to one of the most reliable sources of information, the new iOS 18.1 will arrive on iPhone on October 28th. And while it’s true that Apple hasn’t confirmed this yet, it already seems like an open secret and somewhat logical considering the dates Apple released other first updates like iOS 17.1 or iOS 16.1 (October 24 and 25). Therefore, we recommend that you be careful when upgrading your iPhone.
