This is what Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation will look like in UE5

The video game sector has been around for decades, so we have been able to see thousands of games released for all types of consoles, PCs and mobile phones. Throughout this history, only a few video game sagas continue to exist today and have managed to survive for many generations. Although Tomb Raider is a slightly more modern game from the mid-90s, the franchise is still alive today. In the absence of a new Tomb Raider with next-gen graphics, we are looking at a “remake” of the game Tomb Raider: The Final Revelation as CGI movie created by a fan using UE5..

The Tomb Raider video game saga has exceeded 65 million units sold among dozens of games released. While it may not seem like it, the franchise has released over 20 video games across all consoles, PCs, and mobile phones. It was in 1996 when the first game in the saga was released on the Sega Saturn, PlayStation and PC as a third-person action-adventure game with 3D graphics. They achieved great sales with this first game, and this success led to sequels being developed every now and then, especially every year. Let’s remember that back then, game development didn’t cost as much time and money as it does now.

The second Tomb Raider game was released in 1997, as was Tomb Raider III, the company’s third game, released in 1998.
1999 fourth arrived, finishing Tomb Raider: The Final Revelation and from that moment on, games besides Tomb Raider: Chronicles began to be released for the Game Boy Color as a sequel. Eidos Interactive continued to release games non-stop every year from 1996 until 2003, when The Angel of Darkness appeared and they decided to renew the next game. It wasn’t until 2006 that the game-per-year series returned: first Legend, then Anniversary, and finally Underworld. After that, in 2013, we had a kind of
reboot from the saga Tomb Raider, Then in 2015 come Rise of the Tomb Raider And in 2018 Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

After this trilogy, it seemed that there were already plans for a continuation of the main saga, since we were looking at a collection of classic games and remastered Tomb Raider I, II and III. In the absence of new modern Tomb Raider games, we have a cinematic created by artist Lorenzo_CGI, where he shows us his homage to Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, where Angelina Jolie plays Lara Croft (like in the film) and shows the good graphics that can be created with using UE5.

Although the game menu appears at the beginning, this is not a playable demo and as such can only be considered a video/trailer made by a fan. We see Lara Croft helplessly tied to a chair, probably during interrogation and shortly after the machine appears. It makes for a character that you might not be able to identify because if we look at 1999’s The Final Revelation, the graphics have changed a lot. However, you may remember this because in cutscenes and the original game Was he wearing a hat? and yes, we are talking about Werner von CroyHe Lara Croft’s mentor.
