It was recently revealed that record producer Timbaland had joked in the past that NSYNC singer Timberlake should put a muzzle on him. After facing severe backlash for his comments, Timbaland has now issued an official apology to Britney Spears and her fans.

Timbaland went live on TikTok earlier this week to issue an official apology. “I’m sorry to all of Britney’s fans, even her own,” he said in the live video. In support of Spears, he said, “You have a voice. You say only what you want to say. Who am I to tell you what not to say? “I was wrong to say that.” The producer also stressed that he respects women.
This comes after Timbaland took part in a panel discussion during Sounds Architect: A Producer’s Conversation earlier this month. During the conversation, he said that he was tempted to call Spears out given the claims he had made against Timberlake. He added, “I wanted to call and say, ‘JT, you’ve got to rein that in.'” He also claimed that Britney had made such claims in her memoir to gain attention. He added, “You know what? We live in the age of social media and…everyone wants to go viral,” he said. “I get it because going viral makes you money.” The video was later shared on Twitter where Timbaland received a response.

During this time frame, she alleged that the singer had cheated on her several times. Britney wrote that Justin was “definitely not happy with the pregnancy” and said they were “too young” to be parents.
She wrote, “If it had been left up to me, I would never have done it.” “And yet Justin was so convinced he didn’t want to be a father.”
