One of the most popular rappers, Travis Scott, surprisingly didn’t want to be like that when he was growing up.
In conversation with GQ Antidote The hitmaker opened up about her career path as a child: a nephrologist, a kidney doctor.
Sharing the background of his attraction to the field, he said he went to a friend’s house for a sleepover, where he landed his dream job.
“We went to his crib,” the 32-year-old man said. “Her crib was weird. I’d never seen a crib like that. It was OD. Her dad was an obstetrician-gynecologist. And I remember her uncle was at the house, and I asked her uncle, I said, ‘ What?’ ‘What do you do?’ And he says, ‘I’m a nephrologist.’ He told me what it was, and I said, ‘Yo, this is crazy.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, I want to be like that.'”
He added, “I don’t know why being a kidney doctor was like that… I think it was his pretense.” “Like, his whole swag was just, like, it was fresh. I don’t know. It was just, like, the idea of saving people at that time.”
Travis shared that he stuck with the profession until he went to college at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
He added, “I used to go and shadow hospitals. So I fell more in love with the whole process of it there.” “I wanted to have my own practice, learn the business side of it, work on the medical side of it.”
