SANTO DOMINGO.- The president of the Dominican Baseball League, Vitelio Mejía Ortiz, made a vehement appeal to the authorities of the Tigres del Licey, for the actions carried out by Ricky Ravelo in a box of that team, while the son of the president of the blue team is Suspended by Lidom.
Interviewed on the Diamante Deportivo program yesterday, Mejía Ortiz revealed that “we made a call to the Licey board of directors, since Mr. Ravelo was suspended from all activity in this tournament.”
Vitelio hinted that Ravelo cannot be in the offices of the blue team or in the boxes, but he can use his social networks “because that is already personal.”
“What you should not do is speak on videos while you are in an area of the Licey team,” observed Vitelio, who said that yesterday he notified the Licey, because if that happens again then the issue would already happen against the blue team.
The Lidom president’s warning to the Licey was due to a video posted on Ricky’s social networks, while he was throwing Yunesky Maya in a match against the Águilas in a box at the Quisqueya Stadium, when he is not authorized to be there and is being suspended. .
Two months ago, Ricky Ravelo mocked the suspension imposed on him by Lidom for ordering to put up a song to discriminate against the player Orlando Calixte, from the Águilas Cibaeñas.
On the other hand, Vitelio spoke about the use of the black jacket used by the four teams that participate in the Round Robin, since in various matches two teams have used the same color, such as yesterday the Eagles received the Stars. Both sets used black, but the difference, according to Vitellio, must be the color of the pants.
“Black is a generic color, what we cannot allow is that they wear pants with the same color, gray or white pants should always be used, to differentiate one from the other,” he argued.
He clarified, in any case, that he has exhorted the teams to reduce this action, however, the fact of wearing the black jacket in the same match between the two teams on the pitch is not prohibited by Lidom.
“Ideally, the use of jackets with the same color does not coincide, but it is not prohibited,” he clarified.
