The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelensky described this morning’s helicopter crash in brovarywhich has claimed the life of the Minister of the Interior Denys Monastyrskyi and various members of his team, such as “a terrible tragedy” and one “black morning”
Through Telegram, the president of Ukraine said: “Today, a terrible tragedy occurred in brovaryregion of kyiv. A state emergency services helicopter crashed and a fire broke out at the crash site.
“The exact number of victims of the tragedy is currently being established. Among them are the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Denys Monastyrskyihis first deputy, Yevhen Jeninthe Secretary of State of the Ministry of the Interior, Yuri Lubkovychhis assistants and the helicopter crew,” he said.

“The pain is indescribable. The helicopter fell into the territory of one of the kindergartens”, added the president.
Zelensky concluded by sending his condolences to “all the families and friends of the victims. Denys, Yevhen, Yuri, the team from the Ministry of Internal Affairs… true patriots of Ukraine. Rest in peace. May all those whose lives were taken this black morning rest in peace.”

Total, 14 people died this Wednesday when the helicopter crashed.
The minister is the highest Ukrainian official to die since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine nearly eleven months ago.
Among the fatalities of this Wednesday’s tragedy there are child, according to emergency services. The minister’s deputy, Evgeni Yenin, and the Secretary of State for the Interior Yuri Lubkovich also died.
At the moment, the Ukrainian authorities did not point to a possible Russian involvement, and they opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances.
The initial balance of 18 deaths was reduced to 14 once the search tasks were completed.

The destination of the flight was not entirely clear.
According to the Ukrainian presidential adviser Kirilo Tymoshenkothe helicopter was heading to the front lines of the war with Russia, although the mayor of kyiv, Vitali Klitschkoclaimed he was going to the site of a missile attack in the city of Dnipro.
