There are some brands and trends from the early 2000s that are making a comeback, and there are others that never really went away—at least when it comes to the wardrobes of some millennials and today’s Gen Z style stars. Recently, TikToker Addison Rae was spotted wearing a casual tank top for going out released by the Y2K It Miss Sixty brand. Founded in 1991, the Italian label was one of the first to focus exclusively on women’s denim before expanding into ready-to-wear categories. While Miss Sixty may have peaked before most Zoom users hit double digits, the 23-year-old TikTok personality counts herself as a longtime fan, wearing everything from iconic jeans to swimsuits.
These days, “vintage” Miss Sixty items can be found in many thrift and resale stores (or, if you’re my age, in your childhood closet). Since relaunching in 2017, however, the brand has doubled down on its Y2K-era successes, most recently introducing a “vintage revival” summer collection this year. From super low-rise jeans to patch pockets and micro-mini skirts, this collection features some of our favorite retro trends that have been on our fashion mood boards this year.
Inspired by this look at vintage storage, we’ve rounded up a few currently available pieces that capture the best of the Y2K aesthetic and that we’re actually wearing today. Whether you were a fan of trucker hats and skinny scarves or spent your Saturday nights in sparkly going-out tops and ruffled dresses, there are one or two (or three!) trends we’re glad to see revived more than 20 years later. . Keep scrolling to see today’s take on these “classic” millennial style staples, and if you’re looking for more outfit ideas, Addison Rae is your girl—she’s as obsessed with vintage and archival fashion as we are.
