We also expect news from Android and AI

  • Google’s annual hardware event is just under a month and a half away.

  • The company is set to unveil the new Pixel 9 among other news

Google just announced when its annual hardware event will take place. The exhibition “Made by Google 2024” will take place next August 13 in Mountain View, California. This is a departure from the 2023 meeting, which took place in a different location (New York) and was scheduled for later in the year (October 4).

The Made by Google 2024 keynote will begin at 10:00 a.m. PT (7:00 p.m. Spanish time). From now on, the search engine company must present us with its latest news. We don’t officially know what exactly will be presented, but the invitation to attend the event in person has given us some clues.

Android, Pixel and artificial intelligence

Although Google’s event can be followed live, many journalists were invited to visit the company’s headquarters. This invitation explicitly states that “the best of Google AI, Android software and Pixel line of devices”, so we have a lot to look forward to from this “Made by Google”.

As for the Pixel device portfolio, there are rumors that we will be attending the launch of the Pixel 9, which is expected to come in three models. The classic Pixel 9, which is positioned as the entry-level offering in the lineup, has a limited screen size. The Pixel 9 Pro, in turn, will have a larger and, apparently, better screen.

We should also see the Pixel 9 Pro XL. This terminal will include all the features of the Pixel 9 Pro, but will give screen level jump. It should be noted that the Mountain View giant could also prepare a Pixel 9a, but this mid-range terminal will not arrive this year and we will have to wait until next year to see it.

As Google itself states, during the event we will also see news related to artificial intelligence, the main hero of our time, and Android. We’re coming from Google I/O 2024, where we learned about many advances related to these topics. So we’ll have to wait to see what, if anything, the Mountain View giant surprises us with.
