Best iPad Keyboard Case

The model chosen is the Logitech Combo Touch due to its high quality, allowing you to use your iPad as if it were a computer. In addition, it charges through the device itself, protects against any shock, and its keyboard is intuitive and comfortable.

Every year, iPad models improve and become more powerful productivity tools. For example, I use it in everyday life, both for work and organization, and for watching TV shows, drawing or writing. That’s why I think it’s important to have a good case that will properly protect my iPad. Also, since I tend to do a lot of writing with it, I like cases that have a built-in keyboard, which allows me to turn it into a sort of “mini computer” that is much more portable and can be used anywhere.

However, the wide variety of models on the market makes it difficult to choose a specific one. The type of design, comfort, battery life or key quality and compatibility are just some of the factors that matter and that I usually take into account when purchasing one of these products. So in this comparison, I’ve tested some of the most noteworthy keyboard cases to help you find the one that best suits your needs and budget.

How we selected and tested these products

I spent a total of two weeks testing the iPad keyboard cases included in this comparison. I have the iPad 10 model, and to test it, I alternated between cases to perform the tasks I typically do with the device in my daily life. In addition, when analyzing and evaluating them, I took into account the following aspects:

  • Compatibility. What iPad models is it compatible with?
  • Viewing angles. The ability to fold the case and put it in different positions to tilt the screen to a smaller or larger direction.
  • Design. This refers to the ease of grip and comfort of use, as well as the softness of the buttons and the material from which they are made, their size and weight.
  • Battery. Keyboard autonomy and charging time.

Who is it for: For those who are looking for a high quality keyboard case and don’t want to worry about charging mode.

Why we chose it: This is one of the most popular keyboard cases for iPad, especially because of its performance and versatility. The first thing that caught my attention was that the iPad, when folded, fits perfectly into the case, so much so that it feels like it’s a small laptop rather than a tablet with a keyboard. It has a lightweight feel as it doesn’t weigh too much, but it protects well enough from any impacts and is also soft to the touch.

Its keyboard has an adjustable backlight, which I liked because sometimes when I work remotely there isn’t much light in my office, and with this feature I can see better. The keys feature a chiclet design, similar to a traditional computer keyboard, for comfortable and precise typing. Additionally, one of its greatest attractions is the multi-touch trackpad, which allows for precise laptop-like gestures such as scrolling and pinch-to-zoom. It also comes with an adjustable stand that allows you to tilt your iPad at different angles for the best position for writing or drawing. In addition, the keyboard is removable, allowing you to easily switch between input and display modes as needed. It has a compartment to store a pencil, although this product is clearly not included in the package.

Another thing that caught my attention is that it has a smart plug feature that allows the keyboard to be connected and charged directly without the need for Bluetooth or additional batteries. So you don’t have to worry about charging the case or carrying a charger with you when using your iPad outside the home.

Its weaknesses: It’s a bit expensive.

Who is it for: those people who need a high-quality case also from the Apple brand.

Why we chose it: In this comparison, I wanted to test the differences between cases from lesser-known brands and the official Apple case to see if they are really worth investing in. This case, designed for the 10th generation iPad, has a fairly modern design, consisting of two parts: on one side, a keyboard that is attached with magnets, and on the other, a back cover with an adjustable support. This allows you to use only the back of the iPad when the keyboard is not needed, allowing for flexibility.

As for the keyboard, it has backlit keys and a large trackpad, which is very convenient to use when you have to write for a long time. It also includes a row of 14 function keys—something new in Apple’s iPad keyboards—that make it much easier to access keyboard shortcuts to work more flexibly and quickly. It has a 130° viewing angle and, like the previous model, has a magnetic connection and is Smart Connector compatible, so it doesn’t require charging or Bluetooth pairing.

The truth is that when you use it to write, it feels very similar to a MacBook because the keyboard is identical. As for the protection, I was not completely convinced, since neither the case nor the keyboard completely covers the edges of the iPad, so it is quite easy to scratch and chip with the slightest impact. So while the writing experience is good, I think the price is too high.

Its weaknesses: It’s very expensive for the protection it offers.

Who is it for: who is looking for an economical alternative to a keyboard case.

Why we chose it: At a fairly affordable price, this keyboard case connects via Bluetooth, allowing it to work wirelessly. It’s also removable, allowing you to use your iPad without the keyboard if you don’t need it. It comes in four colors and I chose the blue one because I liked it the most. The keyboard has LED backlighting in a variety of colors, giving it a modern look and making it suitable for use in low-light environments, and as an ‘add-on’ option, the backlight can be customized to suit each user’s preferences. It’s quite comfortable to use and offers a good viewing angle, although it doesn’t have a touchpad, so you have to use touch mode to control the iPad. The case fully protects all corners of the device, is quite durable and lightweight, and also has 3 positions, allowing it to be positioned according to the taste or need of the person who uses it. In terms of battery life, the keyboard is equipped with a USB-C rechargeable battery: with a full charge of about two to three hours, it can be used for about 80 days without the need to recharge.

Its weaknesses: Connection problems may occur when using Bluetooth.

Who is it for: for those looking for an economical option.

Why we chose it: It has a design and features very similar to the TQQ model, but with some differences. First, the case includes a wireless Bluetooth keyboard that can be detached from the case, allowing it to be used on other third-party devices. Like the previous model, the keyboard has LED backlighting in multiple colors, the intensity of which can be adjusted to personalize the user experience. One of its main features is the presence of a slot for conveniently storing an Apple Pencil between the keyboard and the screen.

The case completely protects the iPad, leaving no corners visible, protecting it from bumps and scratches. It has more weight than other cases, which is noticeable when holding it with one hand. In addition, it includes an adjustable back support, ideal for changing the position of the device depending on the activity: writing, reading, watching videos… And, like the TQQ model, it charges via USB, in which case its ionic battery. at least 72 hours. To extend battery life, the case automatically goes into sleep mode when you turn off iPad, and automatically wakes up when you turn it back on to use it.

Its weaknesses: It doesn’t have as big a battery as other models.
