The Avengers: Endgame It ended with Iron Man and Captain America, the two leaders up to that point, separated from the famous superhero squad: Stark ended up dead, and Cap, retired. Although many of the remaining Avengers remain on Earth, most face threats of their own. The rest are still scattered throughout the cosmos.
In love and thunder for example, Thor had to defend New Asgard from Gorr, the Butcher God. On the other hand, nobody now remembers who Peter Parker is (see the events of Spider-Man: No Homecoming that erased the memory of Parker—but not Spider-Man—from the minds of all living beings).
The fourth phase has brought us some interesting news. In Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madnessthe powerful multiversal traveler America Chavez trains with Wong and the surviving sorcerers of Doctor Strange; Black Panther: Wakanda Forever marked the debut of Riri “Ironheart” Williams, with Letitia Wright’s Shuri picking up the Black Panther mantle from her brother, who died before the events of the film.
Be that as it may, they will have to put the batteries. As we saw in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, A new cabal of villainous clones have joined forces with the stated goal of taking down the Avengers for good. It is a multiversal group of variants of Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors) who poses the greatest threat for interstellar stability ever since Thanos snapped his meaty blue fingers. Although his confrontation with the Avengers has not yet been fully clarified, everything indicates that he is going to make a good mess.
Who are The Avengers right now?
At the moment, we have:
- ant man (Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd)
- Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch)
- Wong (The Sorcerer Supreme, played by Benedict Wong)
- Captain America (Sam “Hawk” Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie)
- Hawk Eye (no, not Clint Barton – his young protégé, Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld)
- Hulk (played by Mark Ruffalo, mentor to Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk)
- spider-man (Tom Holland)
- Bucky “The Winter Soldier” Barnes (Sebastian Stan)
In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Shuri assumes the mantle of Black Panther (following the death of his brother, T’Challa, and the real-world demise of actor Chadwick Boseman). We still don’t know what his involvement in the Avengers will be.
Captain Marvel is out there somewhere in the cosmos, just like Thor, and it’s likely that both could show up at any moment. Besides, Wanda Maximoff is more or less dead because of guilt of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessBut we’ll see how long it lasts.
Who could be part of the Avengers in Kang Dynasty and secret wars?
This is the wonderful if you are a comic book geek: Being a multiversal saga, the possibilities of what can happen next are endless, as well as who can join the avengers roster.
In the Comic-Con last July, Marvel added a series of new series and movies to its catalog, in addition to putting a date on some of its already announced projects. One of the most anticipated titles is Blade, which features the vampire killer Mahershala Ali; in the TV series Daredevil: Born AgainComing in 2024, we’ll see Charlie Cox’s blind super-fighter hit the Marvel mainstream. And he’s an Avenger in some of the great comic book stories.
Then there are the protégés of the current Avengers: it is quite possible that america chavez (Xóchitl Gómez), the powerful jumper from the multiverse introduced in Doctor Strange 2be a core avenger when you arrive kang dynasty. Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan, played by Iman Vellani) It is not itself the substitute of Captain Marvelbut they will team up in The Marvels next year. It is to be imagined that She-Hulk will also join.
There’s also Riri “Ironheart” Williams (Dominique Thorne), the teen genius with a metallic Iron Man-esque exoskeleton who was instrumental in the battle between Wakanda and Namor’s Talokan.
Do not forget the multiverse of all this. After three Spider-Mans and a threat as big as Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), wouldn’t it be nice for the trifecta to return? Spider-Man: No Return house raised more than 1,900 million dollars around the world, so it’s safe to say that Disney is looking forward to getting Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield back in action as soon as possible.
We could be very wrong, but given the guesswork, we believe that this list has many ballots to be chosen by 2025:
- ant man
- The wasp
- Doctor Strange
- america chavez
- Captain America by Sam Wilson
- Kate “Hawkeye” Bishop
- Tom Holland’s Spiderman, maybe with the help of some friends
- Captain Marvel
- ms marvel
- Black Panther
With a fourth installment Spider-Man Planned for the next years and Tom Holland’s stellar rise in the franchise following the departure of RDJ and Chris Evans, you’d think Spidey will wear the captain’s armband in the upcoming sequels. The Avengers. Anthony Mackie quelled any speculation that he could take on the leadership role as the new Captain America in a recent interview, stating that Sam is “just a regular guy who hangs out with a bunch of weirdos… so that could cause a problem when go fight someone like Thanos.” Or, in this case, against thousands of Kang.
There’s going to be a lot of movement in the meantime, so there’s almost zero chance this is going to be the right lineup. But at least we have an idea…
Will the Fantastic Four, the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Thunderbolts be in Kang Dynasty and in secret wars?
Well there we are: It’s not just about the Avengers anymore.
We know that The first Marvel family will be formally introduced in the MCU in 2024just in time for that duology of The Avengersafter John Krasinski’s shocking cameo as Mr. Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness.
We caught up with the Guardians on Thor: Love and Thunder. They continue to do their thing and, depending on what happens in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (which will be released next year), hopefully everyone will take on Kang. (Although it is rumored that at least one or two will receive good lead in the triquela). Why wouldn’t they face off, after having played such a collective role in Thanos’ downfall?
Lastly, the thunderbolts they are a team of rescued supervillains who pop in from time to time to lend a hand, and whose movie is coming in mid-2024. They’re kind of like Marvel’s answer to the Suicide Squad, but without the brain bombs. The team includes Yelena Belova, Florence Pugh’s killer; Alexei Shostakov, the perpetually hungover Russian Captain America played by David Harbour; and John Walker, the evil Cap played by Wyatt Russell.
