It is based on the book of the same name by Donald L. Miller and is a tribute to the brave men of the American Eighth Air Force who helped defeat Nazi Germany in World War II.
It follows the men of the 100th Bomb Group, also known as the “Bloody Hundred” due to the heavy casualties they suffered as they bombed Germany and fought in horrendous conditions 25,000 feet in the air.
Some were shot down and captured, some were wounded or killed, and some were lucky enough to make it home.
