The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) will take place on September 12. The ceremony rewards the best and innovations of music artists during the year. Additionally, it has been the scene of iconic live performances that have gone down in history, so this year will be no exception.
The stage of the Prudential Center in New Jersey, New Jersey will welcome great artists who will put on a spectacular show.
Which artists will perform at the VMAs?
One of the most anticipated live performances is that of Colombian singer Shakira, who will also receive an honorary Video Vanguard Award of the Year. The artist will also present a live show in which she will visit the greatest successes of her artistic career, thus marking her return to the stage after 17 years of absence.
The most anticipated Latin artist of the ceremony is the Mexican singer Peso Pluma, Brazilian singer Anita and Colombian singer Karol G, Who has been nominated in many categories including ‘Artist of the Year’.

As was the case at the 2023 Grammys, this year’s VMAs will recognize the 50th anniversary of hip-hop.

American singer Taylor Swift leads the list with a total of 11 nominations, followed by SZA with eight and Blackpink, Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj and Olivia Rodrigo with six.
An unprecedented fact in this edition is that for the first time at the VMAs they nominated only female artists in the ‘Artist of the Year’ category. The nominees are: Shakira, Karol G, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj.
