The social network currently allows users to respond to other people’s posts by adding photos, videos, GIFs, polls, emojis, and URLs from other web pages.
The latter sometimes leads to the spread of “spam”. To avoid this, X is developing a function with which added links may be automatically disabled in the responses, which was recently confirmed by an app researcher Nima Oji.
This is about the button is included in “Settings” social network that needs to be activated to use, which was also confirmed by the platform’s senior director of security, Christopher Stanley.
This new feature will help limit the influence of “bots” who share this type of content, but in addition, may be a problem for those who want to share links to legitimate sources in case they try to debunk the false information, Engadget reminds us.
