Xbox Game Pass to Raise Prices: Here’s All the Changes to Microsoft’s Subscription

Microsoft has confirmed a future price increase for its Xbox Game Pass service, Windows Central reports. Rumours of a price increase have been swirling since almost the moment Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard King, and seemed like a likely next step after Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was confirmed to be part of the service at launch.

The main change is the increase in the price of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, which will increase in the US from $17.99 to $19.99, and in Spain from €14.99 to €17.99. The annual subscription will change from €59.99 to €69.99.

As for the Xbox Game Pass for PC subscription, the current €9.99 will become €11.99.

The biggest change, aside from this price increase, is the discontinuation of the Xbox Game Pass service in console mode for new users. Current subscribers to the Game Pass model, which only includes Xbox features and not the cloud or PC that are included in the Ultimate package, will have the option to keep their subscription as is and spend the months they have accumulated, but users who haven’t will have the option to keep their subscription as is and spend the months they have accumulated. In its place, a new “Xbox Game Pass Standard” plan will be launched, which will offer access to Microsoft’s console’s online features and the Xbox Game Pass library catalog, but will not allow access to the daily releases that are included in it.
