Yacht Club Games confirms development of new Shovel Knight

Yacht Club Games has announced that it is working on a new part of the main Shovel Knight saga.

The indie studio’s founder Sean Velasco explained that “we are committed to creating a game that not only honors the legacy of Shovel Knight, but also includes innovative new mechanics. This isn’t just another sequel, it’s a bold new adventure.” this will take Shovel Knight to a whole new dimension.”

“While we’re not ready to reveal everything just yet, rest assured that this game will bring with it the thrilling action, richer mechanics, and timeless charm you’ve come to expect from a Shovel Knight game. And for those who want to find out what’s so special about it then you can find subtle clues scattered throughout our previous games.”

“Be sure to play Shovel Knight Dig, Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon, and all Treasure Trove games to find all the hidden pieces we put in them.”

While it’s not certain, there are speculations that the new game may have 3D elements, judging by the mention of a “whole new dimension” and a teaser showing the studio’s 3D logo.

As the Yacht Club Games blog explains, this new game has been in development for four years. However, no release date or platforms have been announced.
