Gamora’s character has been through a lot in the MCU… do you think that was the best ending? Zoe Saldana clearly has it.
Pay attention to spoilers. Zoe Saldana, the fabulous actress always playing the fearless Gamora, had a completely different fate in store for her character in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023).
James Gunn, the narrator of the saga, hinted at a dark ending full of twists and turns. The tension in the air was palpable! Fans’ hearts were thumping with trepidation, preparing to say goodbye to one or two of their favorite team members. But, then surprise! In the end he decided to separate the characters, but not kill any of them.
We were very surprised by the green jacket.
Zoe Saldana was one of the great surprises of the film. Since this was not the same Gamora we met in the previous two films! Instead we were introduced to an alternate timeline version. That’s why, in the end, after completing the mission with Peter Quill and the rest of the Guardians, he decided to leave them and return to the arms (or were they claws?) of his Ravager family.
In a recent interview with THR, Zoe Saldana revealed that she initially had a completely different idea of Gamora’s fate. He explains it this way:
“Obviously, it was a bitter decision. I wanted to know if in the final chapter, Gamora stops and finds a way to be a Guardian again. But because of what had happened, it felt like it was the right way for her to end things. At the end of the day, no matter which multiverse he came from, he was still going to have the same experience with Thanos and he was still going to have the same guilt and the same trauma. So she finally found solace with the Ravagers, and she felt more open than ever.”
“I think the whole thing with Peter bothered her, because even though she didn’t remember who he was, she had a feeling he must have been special. And I appreciated that conclusion because it gave us hope that if the Guardians ask the Ravagers for help again, maybe Gamora and Peter will find a way back into each other’s lives, even if only as friends. Why not to be.” Zoe Saldana concludes.
