Zoe Saldana Wants to Direct the Last Star Trek Movie – GeekTyrant

Zoe Saldana great as Nyota Uhura in three Star Trek movies she’s starred in, and she wants to go back and take one last trip on the USS Enterprise. As you know, producer JJ Abrams and Paramount Pictures have been trying to get a fourth Star Trek film off the ground for years, but for some reason they can’t get it together.

During a recent interview with CB, Saldana was asked about Star Trek 4and she said:

“I know. I mean, I heard what you heard at the auction. I just heard they’re getting ready to make a new one with a younger guy to take over. It’s like it was turned off. I don’t know if it’s from the before or after, but they’re really still hoping to grab all of us veterans and bring us back for one last round. Look, I know it’s really hard to argue with a bunch of people with busy schedules. But Working with JJ Abrams and with JJ Abrams in Bad Robot has always been a wonderful and wonderful experience for me. So if I can do this one last time, I will be very grateful.”

Good to hear, I hope Abrams can actually get Star Trek 4 from the ground. Star Trek The project Saldana mentions in his commentary is directed by Andor’s Todd Haynes and written by Seth Grahame-Smith (Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter).

The film is said to be “an origin story set decades before the 2009 Star Trek film that rebooted the franchise.” The film is a companion piece to the fourth Star Trek film that Abrams is still trying to make.
