1-2. England suffer a disappointing defeat to Greece at Wembley with a goal in the 94th minute.

After the results smiled at the break in the previous break Lee Carsleywhen England managed to beat Ireland (0-2) and Finland (2-0), yesterday the “pros” lost Wembley a disappointing defeat that also ended with an always painful (if missed) goal in stoppage time. He went with Greece as executioner of the English and with V.Angelis Pavlidis Particularly inspiring was the goal that enabled Greece to dedicate the victory to George Baldock, the country’s international who recently passed away at the age of 31.

The experiment was not a success at all. Lee Carsleywho, due to an injury that prevented Harry Kane from appearing, upon joining the eleven, chose to play without a central striker, although with an abundance of second-tier players. Cole Palmer, Bukayo Saka, Anthony Gordon, Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham. Yes, England took the lead in the game, but without the ‘punch’ needed to deactivate Greece’s defensive system.

After a scoreless first half Pavlidis the one who opened the score at the very beginning of the second act. It was in the 49th minute when he beat Pickford in the face of passivity Palmer, Stones and Alexander-Arnoldwhich little and nothing troubled him during his stay in the area.

From here, with a deficit on the scoreboard, there was no other way out. England than pressing the accelerator. And it paid for the effort Bukayo Sakawho had to leave the field due to an injury similar to a microtear in a muscle. But in the end, a drawing goal was scored in the 87th minute. It was a job Bellinghamwhen the Madrid player took a strong shot after picking up a dead ball in the box.

Then it seemed that there was enough time to complete the English comeback thanks to the final spurt, but in the end the score was 1-2 in favor Greece. This was in stoppage time and after the second goal. Pavlidisagain without resistance on British territory. The defeat certainly hurts the pros, who, with many stars in their squad but still a temporary player, appear to have lost their way.
