A 62-year-old German has been vaccinated against Covid 217 times. Even though doctors advised him not to do this, as reported in the latest issue of The Lancet Infectioushoods.
The vaccines were purchased and administered privately over a 29-month period. and all indications are that the man, whose identity has not been revealed, was not injured, according to an investigation into the case by the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.
“We learned about his case from newspaper articles. We then contacted him and invited him to take some tests in Erlangen. “I was very interested in doing this.” said Kilian Schober from the department of microbiology at the German university, where specialists took blood and saliva samples.
“We were able to take blood samples ourselves when, during the study, the man was given another vaccine at his insistence. “We were able to use these samples to determine exactly how the immune system responded to the vaccine,” he said.
Schober explained.
Schober was concerned that overstimulation of the immune system by repeated doses can cause cell fatigue, but no evidence of this situation was found in the man and there were no signs that he had ever been infected with covid.
Experts stressed that they do not support human vaccination so many times as a strategy to boost immunity.
The results of tests performed on this person were not enough to draw far-reaching conclusions, according to experts, much less make recommendations to the public.
“Current research shows that the three-dose vaccine along with regular additional vaccinations for vulnerable groups, remains the preferred approach,” the university said.
