A major Russian attack against Ukraine has already killed at least 40 people

The death toll from the massive attack carried out by Russia this Monday in Ukraine has risen in the last few hours to 37 people, including three children, and 170 injured, including thirteen minors, as a result of the attack on a children’s hospital located in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who informed of this new balance, regretted that this Monday’s attack “targeted young cancer patients”, of whom “many were buried under the rubble”, as he indicated through his profile on the social network. He said, “The rubble is still being removed from these places.”

Cities such as Kiev, Dnipro, Krivoy Rog, Sloviansk, Kramatorsk witnessed a decline throughout Monday.

He claimed, “Russia must answer to the fullest for all its crimes: against people, against children, against humanity in general. It is very important that the world does not keep silent about this and that everyone sees what Russia is and what it does.”

According to the city’s mayor Oleksandr Vilkul, ten people have already been killed in Krivoy Rog and more than 30 injured, ten of whom are in critical condition. He reported that the attacks this Monday have reached several facilities, including an official building.

Meanwhile, in the city of Pokrovsk, Donetsk province, there were three deaths, as indicated by its governor, Vadim Filyashkin, who expressed regret that the city has become one of the targets of the massive attacks carried out by the Russians this morning on the whole country.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmigal said the results of these new attacks are an example of how important it is to obtain air defense systems from its international partners.

“In Kiev the Russians have attacked a children’s medical center (…) Fragments of a missile have damaged residential buildings. There are dead and wounded. An attack in Krivoy Rog has hit some industrial facilities. Dnipro, Kramatorsk, Sloviansk are under attack,” Shmigl reiterated.

He claimed, “Our air defence forces shot down most of the missiles, saving many lives. Ukraine calls on its allies to provide more modern systems to protect peaceful cities from Russian terrorism.”
