In the middle of winter the cold is constant and many Spaniards’ homes have had the heating on for some time, whenever possible. However, many people make a mistake that can cause their homes to become even colder.
The reason, as told to British media by home expert Warren Kinloch. Meter, is that many people place their furniture too close to radiators, which prevents the heating from working effectively. To counteract this, they probably also turn up the thermostat in an attempt to heat the house.
Even so, “furniture acts as a barrier, preventing hot air from circulating freely around the room,” he warns, so I recommend not hiding the radiator behind the sofa.
“To optimize heat flow, make sure there is enough space between furniture and radiators. This will allow hot air to circulate freely and heat the entire room more efficiently,” adds Bath Deal’s Warren.
Heating experts, according to media reports, emphasize that radiators should generally be located under windows, since this is usually the coldest part of the room. “In a traditional radiator, most of the heat coming from the radiator is released as hot air through the top. It interacts with the cold air from the window and helps push the hot air from the radiator into the room. This, in turn, keeps the room warmer than it would be if the radiator were located somewhere else,” they note.
However, this only works with energy-efficient windows. Otherwise, drafts may cause heat leakage.
