Vox leader Santiago Abascal spoke out publicly almost a week later about the controversial greeting of footballer Dani Carvajal to government president Pedro Sánchez during the team’s visit to La Moncloa.
In an interview in OkDiariowas asked about the above action and he assured that he “perfectly” understands the attitude shown by the Real Madrid athlete.
“It seems normal to me. You can’t force people to take communion with millstones,” he said, before commenting on the gesture Carvajal made with Sanchez.
“I don’t know exactly what I was thinking, maybe in his father, who is a national police officer… but all my respect goes to Dani Carvajal“, – defended the Vox leader.
Abascal believes that “you can’t force someone to greet you as if they don’t want to.”Or consent only for kissing?” the far-right leader asked in an interview.
Afterwards, the Vox leader justified himself by saying that he was curious that “they were trying to say that the team is one and that it has nothing to do with Vox and the far right…”. “Well, hey, I was really happy to see all these kids shouting, “Spanish Gibraltar.” I think that’s good because Gibraltar is Spanish.“, it was recognized.
