another, bright and slightly provocative mobile

Nothing Phone (2) can be a phone for everyone. It has a great screen, a processor that can handle any task, a battery that lasts for a busy day, and three excellent cameras. Except, Its price of 500 euros is quite reasonable for everything it offers. However, the second generation of giant killer Nothing is not a phone designed for everyone. Its creators paid too much attention to details for them to be wasted later by users who do not know how to appreciate them.

Starting from the back, exhibitionistic and funny, it’s clear that the Nothing Phone (2) is intended for an audience looking for another phone with a provocative touch. “Smartphone” proudly demonstrates its circuits, among which 15-watt wireless charging stands out and the kit is complemented by psychedelic light bulbs. that light up when you receive notifications.

The transparent back of the Nothing Phone (2) not only shows all of its circuitry, but also has areas that are illuminated for various purposes.

Dubbed Glyph, this system is the brand’s signature feature and turns the phone into an eye-catching disco of lights and sounds every time the user receives a call or message. It can be configured to display different lights and tones depending on the calling contact or the app the notification belongs to. In addition, the indicators also serve to create visual timers, show the battery level when the phone is charging, or even show how much time is left until the Uber arrives.

In addition to differential equipment, Nothing Phone (2) boasts specially designed software for all those users who like to take the time to customize their smartphone to the point that borders on pain. and who know how to appreciate careful animation and almost insignificant details that gradually improve the experience.

One screen, three eyes and 3700 mAh

Shining with exceptional detail, Nothing also takes care of the classic aspects of a smartphone. This screen is a pleasure to view any type of content, especially thanks to the variable refresh rate, which ensures a smooth and battery-saving experience. While it’s not one of the brightest panels on the market, it’s perfectly usable in broad daylight.

The battery is perhaps the least reliable aspect of a phone. With 4,700 mAh, it lags behind other models in its range that offer up to 5,500 mAh. While it can handle intensive days of camera and card use, the larger capacity would be ideal for a day and a half or two days of use.

Moreover, it is disappointing that do not include the charger in the box, and the fast charging power is only 45W, when other devices that cost the same or less charge faster. However, the fact that it charges in about an hour is a plus.

The quality of the cameras is excellent, especially considering the price range we’re in. This is a 500 euro device that can easily compete with phones that cost 1000 euros. It doesn’t reach the level of ultra-high-end models like Samsung or the iPhone, but its main sensor takes great photos day and night. The wide angle is very good and selfies also have a lot of detail and the portrait mode on both cameras is one of the best on the market.
