ASUS already had Thor fonts, and now they also have the Mjolnir hammer.

These days at Computex 2024 we saw many new products that are very interesting and should appear on the market before the end of the year. Asus surprised everyone by demonstrating HORN MjolnirA portable UPS which imitates Thor’s hammer. This system has many features, including a pen-flashlight.

During the Taiwan event Asus showed the power supply ROG Thor III. It has a power rating of 1600W and has two 12V-2×6 connectors, allowing you to power two high-end graphics cards.

It completes this “range” of products based on the Norse god of thunder and strength. It makes sense that your high-end power supply is named after this, and your UPS is named after the hammer of this ancient Norse god.

ROG Mjolnir, a full-featured portable UPS

UPSs are fundamental elements of computing during a power outage. Prevents the loss of information in case of any problems in the electrical network, at home or in the workplace. Having one of these systems saved us from losing work time.

ASUS showcased the ROG Mjolnir UPS during Computex 2024. What’s interesting about this design is that it is designed to be very portable. The focus is on outdoor use.

This system has two features. The first is an LCD screen that displays information such as the card’s capacity, the power it delivers, and the estimated usage time. Plus, Mjolnir’s handle is a flashlight, which is extremely convenient during a power outage.

Inside the Mjolnir there is a lithium iron phosphate LiFePO battery with a capacity of up to 768 Wh. ASUS indicates that it can provide up to 60 hours of battery life at a load of 700 watts.

An interesting aspect is that this UPS comes with QI 2.0 wireless charging technology. It is this system that is used to power the flashlight. Unfortunately, no data is provided on the autonomy it can offer.

ASUS emphasizes that the Mjolnir UPS is designed for use at home or on the go. In addition, this system allows it to be combined with solar panels to increase autonomy or recharge.

In terms of connectivity, it has four sockets allowing you to connect 4 systems. Additionally, it has two USB-C ports and two USB-A ports to power a variety of portable devices. There is a USB-B port on the front panel, the functionality of which is unknown to us. It can be used to monitor autonomy or other power settings.

This UPS has been rumored for quite some time and we were very excited to see it. ASUS has not provided information about when the new ROG Mjolnir will be released, nor has it indicated a price. We assume that due to its capabilities and features, as well as being part of the ROG line, it will not be particularly economical. Most likely, this system could easily cost around 800 euros.
