Roko Baturina (20.06.2000, Split, Croatia) is a central striker who stands out for his strength in the penalty area and his eye for goal. In addition, despite his young age, he can boast a long career in European football; over the past two years, he has had fruitful experience playing in LaLiga Hypermotion, wearing the Real Racing Club shirt.
He took his first steps in the world of football in the city of his birth, first at Hajduk Juvenil in the 2015/16 season and then at RNK Split in the 16/17 season, making his debut for the first team of the Croatian top-flight. From there, in the 18/19 season, he moved to the lower category of Dinamo Zagreb, where he completed his training between the youth team, playing in the prestigious UEFA Youth League, and the reserve team. In the 19/20 season, he scored five goals in 13 games and made his debut for the most successful first team in the Balkan country. In the winter, he went on loan to Slovenian Bravo and scored eight goals in 16 games.
In 20/21 he was transferred to Hungarian side Ferencvaros, where he made his UEFA Champions League debut and finished the season with seven goals in 23 matches. After two appointments to Lech Poznan (Polonia) and Maribor (Slovenia), he also ended up on loan at LaLiga Hypermotion club Real Racing.
With the Cantabrian national team, he quickly adapted to Spanish football and became one of the revelations of the second round in the silver category. In less than four months, he scored four goals and made two assists in 14 games, proving himself to be a very effective player for the team, as all his goals contributed to victories.
In 23/24 he was transferred to Gil Vicente, his current club, where he spent the first half of the season, scoring three goals in 19 games. In the middle of the winter market, he returned to Santander to play 12 games and score a goal, which also brought him three points, in a team that was close to reaching the playoffs for promotion to EA Sports LaLiga.
Baturina is a player with extensive continental experience who is still 24 years old and has put in an outstanding performance in the 26 games he has played in his first experience of Spanish football.
The player, who joined on loan from Gil Vicente Portugues, underwent the relevant medical examination this Monday at the Vitas Rosaleda Medical Center and signed a contract that commits him to the “Subject” for the current season.
