Playing the role of Johnny Storm, known as the Human Torch, the actor appeared on screen in Tim Story’s 2005 film and its 2007 sequel. But later, after he played the role of Cap, fans reimagined Austin Butler as the Human Torch.

This brand new piece of fan art from Instagram users has gained everyone’s attention following rumors that Butler’s agents are pushing him to play the Human Torch. The report appeared in 2022 when Jeff Snyder made it public during Hot mic podcast.

Austin Butler’s agents wanted him to be the Human Torch
Ever since Marvel Studios planned Fantastic Four reboot, they faced major casting and production setbacks. They lost famous actors like John Krasinski to other projects and Chris Evans for his role as Captain America in the MCU. As such, Marvel was looking for actors to play Reed Richards and Johnny Storm, among others.
Watching Marvel hunt for actors to play these roles in their upcoming films. Fantastic Four reboot, back in 2022, Austin Butler made headlines for allegedly campaigning for the role of the Human Torch. The character, once played by Chris Evans, was apparently being scouted by Butler’s agents.

While this rumor about Austin Butler campaigning for the Human Torch was never confirmed and ultimately turned into a false alarm, fans were excited when Jeff Snyder revealed it back in 2022. After a whirlwind of rumors, fans even began imagining the actor in the iconic role that Eleven belonged to Chris Evans.

Soon, Marvel fans came up with their own creations that reimagined Austin Butler as Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch. Wearing a blue suit Elvis the actor was spotted in a picture posted by Josh under the name Clements.ink on Instagram. After that, a lot of artwork came into the spotlight, replacing Evans with Butler as the next Human Torch.
However, the rumors soon died down as Marvel did not address any of this fan art or fan casting. After all, Kevin Feige told fans about the upcoming reboot, which is set to hit theaters in 2025. With Pedro Pascal playing the role of Reed Richards, the film will feature a new cast for each role. But, unfortunately, Austin Butler is not on the list.
