Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has insisted that relegation from Manchester City is a relief and that his leg “he was practically dead” at the end of the match he played against Manchester City.
“It’s a relief. We gave it our all in the game. I’ve played against City before and they wear you down. My leg was practically dead at the end,” Bellingham told TNT Sports after the penalty shootout win over City .
“Very hard. They are constantly with the ball and never stop moving.. Most teams would fall apart if they did that, but we held up very well. I would never have dreamed of starting my time at Real Madrid this way. I hope there will be many more evenings like this,” the Englishman added.
“Today was about mentality. “If you want to play for a team like Real Madrid, you have to take it as a responsibility and not as pressure.” added Bellingham, who had his brother in the stands watching him play.
“It was a pleasure. My brother was here and saw me play for Madrid for the first time.
