United States President Joe Biden issued this Tuesday an executive order to restrict irregular access of migrants to the country and make asylum more difficult.

The announcement comes at a time when thousands of people from different countries cross the border from northern Mexico every day without permission to enter the United States.

The White House revealed in a statement that the presidential mandate will prevent these people from seeking asylum when officials feel there is pressure on the southern border.

Its effect will be applied when the number of people crossing the border increases Rs 2,500 per day for a week,

That figure has been exceeded in the last seven days, so Biden’s order is expected to take effect from midnight Tuesday to Wednesday.

Those who express fear of returning to their countries will have their cases examined under higher standards than those currently used by U.S. officials specializing in political asylum.

the past few may 3,800 migrants cross the border every day And a total of 118,000 arrests were made, a high figure but below the peak last December when the number exceeded 250,000.

The president’s order comes five months ahead of the November 5 elections, in which Biden and former President Donald Trump are expected to face each other and in which irregular immigration has emerged as one of the hottest topics of debate.

The United States government already has an agreement with Mexico, which has committed to accepting 30,000 citizens per month from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela who have been denied entry into the United States.
