What is Bonoloto?

Much has changed since 1763, when King Charles III established the so-called “Royal Lottery”, one of the bastions of its birth was the contribution to social charity. Thus, in the royal decree of September 30, 1763, which then founded our “lotto”, the monarch indicated that “I have found it expedient and convenient to organize a lottery in Madrid, so that it may benefit hospitals, hospices and other pious and public works, on which much money is spent annually from my royal treasury.”.

The game was a kind of primitive lottery, where you had to choose as many numbers as you wanted, from 1 to 90, with different possibilities. In the draw, a blindfolded child would take 5 balls out of a bag containing 90 balls. The first draw of the lottery was held in the Plaza San Ildefonso, where the lottery headquarters would later be located.

Centuries after the first lottery movement in Spain, in 1988 the gambling game Bonoloto was born as one of the variations of the Primitiva lottery, belonging to Loterías y Apuestas del Estado (LAE). The aim of this game was to offer a new type of lottery that could be played every day of the week at a lower price than other games of the Spanish lottery and gambling operator.

For a long time it was considered the “younger sister” of Primitiva due to the more than significant similarity of the game mode. The first draw took place on February 28, 1988 with a bet price of 25 pesetas.

How to play Bonoloto?

The Bonoloto gambling game is one of the most active games of the week. Every week, from Monday to Saturday, except Sunday, there are up to six independent draws. The cost of each bet is 0.50 euros, which is the most economical draw of all the Loterías y Apuestas del Estado draws.

There are two game modes: daily, in which only the daily draw is entered on the ticket and at least two equal or different bets must be made; and another weekly or subscription mode, in which the ticket is sealed for all draws of the corresponding week or, in any case, for those draws that remain after the ticket stamping date, if it is held with a cycle of the week has already opened. In this case, there is no limit on the number of bets. Each simple bet must mark six different numbers from 1 to 49. When the ticket is sealed, the terminal will generate a random number from 0 to 9, which will correspond to the Return.

In the Bonoloto draw, six balls from 1 to 49 are drawn from the drum. This will make a winning combination, and then the seventh ball, which corresponds to the additional number. How are prizes distributed in Bonoloto?

To get some prize in the BonoLoto drawingyou must match at least three numbers from the bets on the ticket. The prize will be adjusted depending on the number of correct answers received during the participation. 55% of the total amount plus possible accumulated jackpots from previous draws will go to the prize pool. Of this 55% of funds allocated to the prize pool, 10% goes to pay out prizes in the “Refund” category, and the remaining 45% goes to pay out prizes in the remaining first 5 categories.

If there are several winners in one category, the prize is distributed equally among the lucky winners in that category. In the event that there are several winners in one nomination, the corresponding prize will be distributed equally among the winners of that category. If during the distribution it happens that a lower category receives a higher prize at the rate than a higher category, then the fund of both categories will be combined and distributed equally among all the winners of the two categories.
